Antonín Nikendey

In the service of Prince Schwarzenberg he began as a forest assistant in Stará Obora, St. Thomas and Strážný hunting grounds. Later he became the secretary of the Forest Inspection in Hluboká, the forester of the Vimperk and Prášily manors. In World War I he was heavily wounded on the Italian front and in WW II. He was imprisoned by the Gestapo until personal intervention by Prince A. Schwarzenberg at the Imperial Minister of Himmler in Berlin. Until 1948, he was entrusted with the management and forestry headquarters of the Hluboká manor. On February 28, 1948, the Communist party dismissed him and he lost all his functions.
