Cross country ski paradise just over the border
Just over the border crossing Zadní Zvonková – Schöneben is one of the finest quality cross country ski areas in the Šumava, with highly reliable snow cover from December through to March, and almost daily grooming of the cross-country trails.
The Schöneben-Hochficht cross country ski area has a 78 km long network of trails for classic and skate style skiing. The trails at Schöneben offer gentler circuits suitable for recreational skiers as well as hillier routes for the more skilled. Skate style skiers in particular will find the routes at Schöneben perfect – similarly high-quality trails are few and far between.
