Hans Schreiber

A naturalist and botanist who, after studying in Prague and Vienna, made exploratory scientific trips to Scandinavia, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland. From 1895 he worked as the director of the agricultural school in Stod. His professional work focused on the research of peatlands and moors, and he gradually became one of the most important experts in Europe. In 1921, he became a co-founder of the Ethnographic and Museum Association in Horní Planá and contributed to the establishment of the Šumava Museum, where he managed scientific collections.
